"The Curb Institute provides students with real world experiences in real time."
HBCU Records, a student-run indie record label formed by the University's Curb Institute, is preparing to release its first mixtape during the fall 2017. The mixtape (as yet untitled) will feature B-CU students Daniel (DJ DGlove) Glover, a Liberal Arts major (DJ mixing) and L. Paul Jackson, Jr., a Mass Comm major (vocals). Both B-CU students were the first artists signed to HBCU Records. Based on the students' excellent songwriting and production teams, both Paul and DJ DGlove were subsequently signed to artist development deals by Curb Records. The mixtape project will be co-produced by B-CU Professor Isaac Caputo (Mass Comm) and Curb Institute staff member Kris Browne. The project's release date is scheduled during activities associated with the inaugural event "HBCU Records' Week" on campus in October 2017. It will be released digitally and the marketing and radio promotions plans will be developed by B-CU students for HBCU Records. Stay tuned for further details.
